Dr Steven Parker

Dr Steven Parker graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1985 and served as a dental officer in the Defence Forces for 17 years, eventually resigning with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His post-graduate achievements include diplomas in oral surgery and sedation and pain control. In addition to his dental qualifications, Dr Parker pursued further studies in financial planning and law, and he is admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of NSW.
Dr Parker holds directorships on several company boards including a large private hospital. He is also a member on a couple of committees and he serves as the Chair of the Conscious Sedation Advisory Panel to the Dental Board. Additionally he is a member of the writing party for the fourth edition of the ‘Therapeutics Guidelines - Oral and Dental’, commonly referred to as “the Clown Book.”
In addition to these leadership roles, Dr Parker founded and owned the Wisdom Teeth Centre in North West Sydney, a referral-based practice restricted to oral surgery where he performed treatment under general anaesthesia and various types of sedation. Over the past two decades, he has been a respected lecturer for ADANSW, ADAWA and ADAQ, teaching the minimal sedation techniques of oral sedation and inhalational sedation (nitrous oxide).
