  • DAN is a subscription-based ‘Online Helpline’ that connects dental professionals with expert advice in dental therapeutics, pharmacy, prescribing, general medical concerns, sedation and pain control, restorative dentistry, endodontics and oral medicine.

Our goal is to help practitioners navigate complex patient cases and minimise clinical risks through timely, reliable guidance.

  • DAN operates as an online platform where members can submit queries and confidentially receive expert advice on patient cases from our consultants.

Subscribers also have access to webinars and a growing library of educational resources to keep them informed on latest developments.

  • Our expert team includes highly qualified professionals who are recognised experts in their fields.

They can provide practical, evidence-based guidance to help you make informed decisions for your patients. See our About section for further details.

  • You can ask questions related to oral medicine, endodontics, dental therapeutics, pharmacy, dental materials, general restorative dentistry (excluding implants), medical conditions, and sedation and pain control that might impact your patient care. We do not currently provide advice on areas outside of these (ie orthodontics, periodontics, implants and complex restorative plans etc).

  • Online forums can often seem like a convenient place to seek advice, but the quality and reliability of the information you receive can be a significant concern. Many forum responses come from unverified sources, leading to conflicting or even incorrect advice that can create confusion and potential risks for your professional decision-making. Additionally, the anonymity of these platforms can foster ridicule, judgment, or inflammatory responses, leaving many feeling hesitant to ask the questions they truly need answers to.

At Dental Advice Network (DAN), we take a completely different approach. Your questions are asked and answered confidentially by recognised experts. You’ll receive clear, evidence-based guidance tailored specifically to your query—free from the conflicting responses or negativity often found online. With DAN, you can seek advice in a supportive, professional environment, knowing you’ll receive reliable answers that empower you to act confidently and reduce clinical risks.

And of course, you would miss out on the included webinars by the experts and access to the online resources such as our example prescriptions!

  • No. Students have access to lecturers, tutors and demonstrators for guidance and answering questions. However, once registered, you will not be left to your own devices. DAN will take on the role of your lecturers and tutors - you will always have access to trusted experts!

  • As a member, you can log in to our secure online platform and submit your question via a simple form that is emailed directly to us. If the issue is of a more urgent nature, you can request a phone call to discuss the issue which will be returned as soon as possible.
